Self-assured: Astrid knows who she is.She's a fighter, a protector, and strategist. She's very direct and doesn't hold anything back, be it in a fight or when it comes to sharing vital information or offering guidance. As a Viking, she was raised for combat, and it's something she excels in. But she's also able to adapt. She's so comfortable in her own skin that when Berk starts to accept dragons instead of trying to kill them, she pretty easily adapts to the change. She doesn't have an identity crisis, she just shifts her skills and strengths to better fit the new status quo.
Loyal: Where her friends and her people are concerned, Astrid is incredibly loyal. She would do anything to help them in times of need. This includes going against orders if she feels another course of action (like following hiccup's lead) is better. It also means that if she feels she's fallen short in her duty to protect Berk, she'll do anything she can to make it up to her people. Her duty is important to her, and she'll do whatever she needs to in order to ensure her friends, dragon, and people are safe. Even if it might hurt her in the process.
Driven: Astrid is a hard worker through and through. If there's something she wants to achieve, she will give the task her all. It can sometimes lead to tunnel-vision and over-competitiveness, but on the whole, her drive is a strength. Because she's not just driven to succeed. She pushes herself to be better, whether it be a better fighter, a better friend, or a better strategist. She might not realize her own shortcomings sometimes, but once she does? She will work hard to better herself.
